(AsiaGameHub) –   The individual who won a substantial EUR 8.7 million Lotto jackpot has finally come forward to claim their prize, after remaining quiet for the past 10 days, sparking concern among lottery officials and enthusiasts.

The jackpot, totaling EUR 8,726,418, was secured on May 2, making the winner the second person to hit the Lotto jackpot in 2026.

The ticket was a Quick Pick purchased at an Applegreen Ballymount store. Although details about the winner remain limited, the National Lottery has confirmed that the individual has already reached out to begin the prize collection process.

In an official statement, the lottery said: “Our Lotto Jackpot winner has now made contact. The winner reached our Prize Claims team, and arrangements are currently being made for them to collect their prize.”

The store’s management expressed excitement upon learning their location had sold a multi-million-euro winning ticket.

“Receiving a call from the National Lottery informing us that our store sold a Lotto jackpot ticket worth over €8.7 million was the perfect way to start the week,” said Tom Hevey, site director at Applegreen Ballymount.

“Applegreen Ballymount is a bustling location with both local customers and passersby, so we hope the winner checks their ticket soon – we extend our warmest congratulations on their incredible win,” Hevey added.
